Lingnan University Year 3 accounting student Vicky Li represented Hong Kong to attend the International Intern Leadership Conference of the EY (Ernst & Young) Academy in the US this summer.

Vicky was the only one selected to represent Hong Kong to attend the annual conference, which brought together the best (around 2,000) interns of the company from around the world to meet its top executives, learn about its vision and network with peers.

The 2013 Conference was held in Disney World, Orlando, Florida from 31 July to 3 August, during which interns participated in innovative team building activities as well as attended workshops related to discovering themselves, EY and the world.

Vicky still remembers the words of EY's global chairman and CEO Mark Weinberger during the kick-off of the conference: "don't think about why, think about why not". She treasured a lot the experience of mingling and networking with peer interns from across the globe. They ran around the Universal Studios in Orlando to finish a team challenge activity.

Vicky was a tax intern in EY’s Hong Kong office in the summer of 2012 and was invited to apply to join the conference in Orlando. She got shortlisted after submitting an essay on her internship experience, attended an interview and was selected. Vicky found the internship a rewarding and unforgettable experience. The supportive and collaborative team culture there reinforced her determination to become an accountant.
