On 30 November 2010, Lingnan University held the topping out ceremony of the “Simon and Eleanor Kwok Building”, which has been named in appreciation of the $20 million donation by Dr Simon Kwok Siu-ming and his wife Dr Eleanor Kwok.
Lingnan University has earned accreditation of its business degree programmes by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, joining less than 5% of schools of business worldwide for this distinguished hallmark of excellence in management education.
A bronze statue of Dr Sun Yat-sen was unveiled in a ceremony on 17 December 2010.
Research and academic activities
Lingnan University announced the results of a research on “Hong Kong as an International Financial Centre for China and for the World” at a conference jointly organised by HKIMR on 10 December 2010.
Prof Avinash Dixit, who was appointed a Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Economics by Lingnan University for a term of five years from May 2009, gave two more lectures in November 2010.
Awards and people
Lingnan University MPhil student Guo Hangfei was presented with the Second Prize in the Best Student Paper Award of the Second Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) Hong Kong International Conference on 6-7 January 2011.
