About 300 academics, educators, secondary school principals and teachers attended a symposium on the 334 Curriculum entitled “Advancing Teaching and Learning: Evidence, Outcomes and E-learning” hosted by Lingnan University on 4 March 2011.
The long cold winter Hong Kong just went through set a perfect backdrop for Lingnan’s Green Festival held between 26 February and 9 March this year.
Lingnan University and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong (YMCA) held a signing ceremony for the establishment of University YMCA (Lingnan University) on 24 February 2011.
Lingnan students talked about their experiences on a trip to Yunnan’s historical war sites at a sharing session organised by the University’s Office of Service-Learning on 5 March 2011.
Research and academic activities
Reputed Chinese writer Prof Wang Xiaoming gave an inspiring public lecture on the new landscape of contemporary Chinese literature after the opening ceremony of “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Distinguished Visiting Professorship of Modern Chinese Literature at Lingnan University Scheme” on 25 February 2011.
Awards and people
Lingnan University has recently received a commendation award from the Soong Ching Ling Former Residence Administration under the Chinese Ministry of Culture. Lingnan is the only Hong Kong tertiary institution accorded the award.
