Deloitte Touche Tohmatu ("Deloitte") and the Office of Service-Learning of Lingnan University signed a memorandum of understanding on 17 March 2011 for the second phase of their joint community programme: "Citizen's Responsibility Education through Service-Learning: A Village Adoption Project in Yunnan, China 2011-2013".
The recent earthquakes in Japan and Yunnan Province in mainland China have led to numerous deaths and casualties. To show Lingnan's care for the affected victims, a booth was set up on campus to collect donations.
Lingnan University organised an exhibition entitled “A New Era for Education Reform” from 31 March to 2 April 2011 to allow parents, students, teachers and the public to have a more thorough understanding of the new education system and the coming four-year university curriculum.
A wide range of cultural activities and events was organised during the Additional Languages Extravaganza from 21 February to 4 March 2011.
Under the theme of “Paradise”, the Lingnan University Choir Annual Performance 2011 was held at the Art Gallery on campus on 31 March 2011.
Research and academic activities
Lingnan University launched its inaugural Arts Week on 21 March 2011. Featuring a fascinating array of performances, lectures, seminars and workshops, the 11-day event was a showcase of the talents and interests of staff and students in multiple art forms.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s new Chief Economist Dr Changyong Rhee presented the organisation’s economic forecast for 2011 at Lingnan University on 7 April 2011.

Awards and people
Lingnan University presented 430 scholarships to 303 students at its annual Awards Presentation Ceremony on 4 April 2011.
