In appreciation of a generous donation of $27 million by Mr Lee Man-bun, Managing Director of Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Limited, the main building on campus has been named after his father Mr Patrick Lee Wan-keung.
Hong Kong Professionals & Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA) and Lingnan University have joined hands to organise a leadership mentoring programme.
The inauguration ceremony of the first committee of Lingnan University’s Wofoo Leaders’ Network was held on 19 April 2011.
In recognition of the enthusiastic participation of eleven Green Ambassadors in the “Green Ambassador Scheme” under the “Lingnan University Green Campus Programme 2010-11”, an award presentation ceremony was held on 19 April 2011.
A “Street Music Concert” was held on 11 April 2011 to explore the inter-relationship and synergy between music and poetry.
Research and academic activities
Scholars from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong took part in a symposium on 30 April 2011 on campus to discuss issues related to the teaching of modern Chinese literature in secondary school.
Prof Richard Davis, Chair Professor of the Department of History, Lingnan University, has been elected a member of the Executive Committee of the newly formed Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities.
Awards and people
Prof Leung Ping-kwan, Chair Professor of Comparative Literature at Lingnan University, has been honoured with the Award for Best Artist 2010 (Literary Arts) by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
Hilary Chung (BBA Year 3) has been presented with an “Outstanding Service Award for Tertiary Students” in recognition of her service to the community.
Two students have been awarded trophies for their outstanding performance in an internship programme under the “Standard Chartered and Lingnan University Joint Education Programme”.
