Mr Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the HKSAR and Chancellor of the University, conferred honorary doctorates on three distinguished individuals at the 41st Congregation, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to education and the well-being of the community.

Over 1,000 students, alumni, teachers, staff and friends of the University participated in "Walking with Lingnanians", raising more than $1.7 million in total.

About 14,000 visitors attended the two Information Days on 22-23 October.

International Day 2011 celebrated Lingnan’s cultural diversity through an array of games, cuisines and performances from various cultures and countries.

Prof Paisley Livingston of the Philosophy Department at Lingnan outlined a contemporary philosopher’s perspective on the value of art and the nature of art appreciation.


 

Winners of the "Lingnan Snapshots" Photo Competition were announced at the award presentation ceremony held on 17 October 2011.

Diplomats, journalists and scholars attended the Korea Forum 2011 hosted by Lingnan University on 14 October.


 

Mr Legward Wong Cheuk-kin, one of “The Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2010”, shared his happiness and difficulties in establishing the “Home of the Elderly” at a “Tuesdays with Mentors” gathering with Lingnan students.

Awards and people

LU Sports Team has won the bronze medal in both the women’s basketball and volleyball tournaments of the Jackie Chan Inter-collegiate Challenge Cup 2011.


 

Twelve Lingnan students came first with the highest marks in the Providence Foundation Outward Bound Training Awards 2010/11.
