Associate professor of history Dr Lau Chi-pang has published a new book on Tat Tak College. The book was launched at Commercial Press in Tsimshatsui on 27 November. Seven alumni of Tat Tak College were invited at the book launch to share fond memories of their lives as students at the short-lived institution.
Recognised as “the second university in Hong Kong”, Tat Tak College was founded in October 1946 but closed in February 1949. After ploughing through the College’s official records, government archives and conducting interviews with former teachers and students, Dr Lau presents the long-forgotten history of Tat Tak College in his new book published by the Chung Hwa Book Company in Hong Kong.
