Prof Stephen Chan and Prof Mette Hjort have been appointed Associate Vice-Presidents overseeing academic affairs and academic quality assurance respectively, while Prof Grace Lau Yin-ping has taken up the post of Academic Dean, Faculty of Arts, effective August 2013. 

Prof Stephen Chan, Professor in the Department of Cultural Studies, has been appointed Associate Vice-President (Academic Affairs) and Registrar, and Director of Core Curriculum and General Education, effective 1 August. He is responsible for the development of the University’s academic programmes. Prof Grace Lau Yin-ping succeeded him as Academic Dean of Faculty of Arts, effective 1 August.

Prof Mette Hjort, Chair Professor in the Department of Visual Studies, has been appointed Associate Vice-President (Academic Quality Assurance), effective 16 August. In her new role, Prof Hjort dedicates herself to the important work on quality assurance and chair the Academic Quality Assurance Committee. Furthermore, she oversees the Office of Mainland and International Programmes (OMIP) as well as the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC).
