At the “TEDx Lingnan University” event on 5 March, 14 speakers with different backgrounds provided thought-provoking talks, with students and members of the public gathered to explore the many bold paths life can take.

According to the event’s coordinator Mr Marc LeBane from the Centre for English and Additional Languages, the event highlighted that it doesn't matter how old you are, where you come from, what your social class or education is; life has the ability of presenting you with a variety of options and, if you are bold enough to act upon them, you can accomplish great things for yourself.

A major highlight of the event was when Lingnanians took to the stage.  Head of the Science Unit Prof Mark McGinley, graduate student Akinyemi Smith, and undergraduate student Stephanie Liu Fengxin gave powerful presentations encouraging audience to make bold choices.  Through listening to personal stories of and well-placed advice by the speakers, audience were much inspired by their courage and convictions.
