Mr Andrew Yao, JP, Chairman of the Hong Kong-Shanghai Economic Development Association and Council Member of Lingnan University, and Ms Iris Ho of Student Services Centre, Lingnan University, paid a visit to all the participating companies of the “Shanghai-Hongkong Future Leaders (Lingnan Elites) Internship Programme” on 25-26 February.

With the dedicated support from Mr Yao, the new internship programme will be piloted in summer 2014, enabling students to gain hands-on experience and exposure to the working culture of highly popular industries such as advertising, public relations and event management, multimedia and sales and marketing.

During the visit, Mr Yao and Ms Ho met with heads and representatives of all the participating companies in Shanghai including Radio and Television Shanghai, Oriental DreamWorks, Always (Shanghai) Marketing Services Co Ltd and Eastmoney Information Co Ltd. In the meetings that kick-started the internship programme, Mr Yao and Ms Ho also promoted the characteristics of Lingnan’s liberal arts education. This summer, over 30 Lingnan students are expected to become interns in these prominent companies in Shanghai.
