Mr Tim Lau, a 2004 graduate of Department of Chinese, Lingnan University talked about his job experiences as a wedding planner and master of ceremonies under the theme of “Think Out of the Box” at the “Tuesdays with Mentors” dinner on 25 February. Being a graduate in Chinese, Tim shared with students how he started his own business as well as the fulfilment and challenges in his career development. He has received a number of awards recognising his achievements as a wedding planner over the years.

Tim recalled that during his study at Lingnan 10 years ago, he has participated in a variety of student activities, including being MC of various events. Joining extra-curricular activities as out-of-classroom learning experiences was extremely important for the preparation of his career development. By sharing of his stories at university and at work, Tim encouraged students to think wild and put their creative ideas into practice, so as to make their life more fruitful. He also urged students to think “big” for their life and career, and seize the opportunity to contribute to Lingnan.

Dr Frank Law, Council Member and Court Chairman, Dr Alex Lee, Council and Court Member, and 14 alumni attended the dinner talk as guests to share their invaluable working experiences and university life with 150 participating students.
