The “Art and Life” Film Series, presented by the Core Curriculum and General Education Office, Centre for Cinema Studies and CNEX Foundation from September to October, attracted the participation of students and teachers of Lingnan as well as those from local secondary schools.

The film series comprised of three documentaries, namely “Homecoming”, “Solitary Joy” and “Mountain Spirit”, which featured leading artists of Hong Kong and Taiwan in the regimes of digital art, performing art, Chinese calligraphy and installation art.  Prof Wong Yiu-Chung, Director of Core Curriculum and General Education, said in his opening address that the Film Series would serve to inspire students to appreciate the value of art in modern society.  Speakers at the post-screening discussion opened up dialogues with the audience on interesting topics from producing documentary to practicing Chinese calligraphy.
