On 25 June, Mr Matthew Cheng Ching-hang, The Centre for Humanities Research, Lingnan University discussed the poems of Huang Ya and Yang Jiguang published in Hong Kong before they moved to Malaysia, from which he introduced two fresh perspectives on Hong Kong poetry of the 1950s.

Huang Ya’s lyrical poems reflected the reality of Hong Kong, while Yang Jiguang’s language of pure poetry rendered people’s spiritual and emotional worlds. Mr Cheng also discussed the different transformations of the two poets’ works after they left for Malaysia.
