The Centre for Humanities Research of Lingnan University (CHR) has co-published a collection of urban short stories entitled In Search of a Flat: An Anthology of Hong Kong Urban Short Stories with the Association of Stories in Macao (ASM).
This anthology showcases the English translations of 14 Hong Kong urban stories written by such local writers as Shu Xiangcheng, Liu Yichang, Li Wai-ling and Yesi and published from the 1950s to the 1990s. The short stories depict how Hong Kong people confront a reality far beyond their control.
The book cover shows a man climbing up and falling down Jardine House, a commercial building formerly known as Connaught Centre, representing a cruel reality facing the people who live in this city.
