At the University Assembly on 27 February, Dr Stephen Chow Chun-kay, founder and board chairman of Niche-Tech Corporation and Chows Electronics Group, shared his insights on the delicate relationship between entrepreneurship and cultural development.
Dr Chow has aspired to become an entrepreneur since teenage, and worked diligently and persistently to realise his dream. He said entrepreneurship requires courage, a sense of responsibility and the capacity to learn from setbacks and criticisms.
A pupil of Cantonese opera master Dr Lam Kar-sing, Dr Chow has worked for the promotion and preservation of this traditional art form in Hong Kong. By applying knowledge of entrepreneurship and business management to art promotion and development, he has received recognition and support from the Cantonese opera circles. He is currently serving as executive director of Lam Kar Sing Foundation Limited.
