The Faculty of Arts will introduce a new Interdisciplinary Major in Chinese Literature, History and Philosophy starting from the 2016-17 academic year. This will provide a more challenging interdisciplinary study for outstanding students of the Faculty of Arts.
Lingnan University’s Faculty of Arts has been well known for its excellent foundation in the teaching and research of Chinese literature, history and philosophy. The newly introduced Interdisciplinary Major in Chinese Literature, History and Philosophy integrates Lingnan’s strengths in related subjects, and provides students with the opportunity to conduct in-depth and interdisciplinary research and study on Chinese culture.
Students who wish to take the Interdisciplinary Major in Chinese Literature, History and Philosophy should be admitted to the Faculty of Arts through broad-based admission, and have attained Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above at the end of the first year of study, after which they can submit their applications to the Faculty. Students are required to complete courses from the three disciplines of Chinese Literature, History and Philosophy, as well as a year-long Directed Research Project.
