Four Lingnan students were selected to participate in the four-week Lee Shiu Summer Programme 2012 with 88 students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University.

The intensive programme included first-hand experience of Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore through visits to the Crossroads Foundation and the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong, the Housing and Development Board Housing Scheme in Singapore, and the Opera House and the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Sponsored by Dr Lee Shiu and his wife Dr Jennie Lee, the programme also featured insightful seminars by prominent speakers such as Prof Edward Chen, former president of Lingnan University; Mr Ronnie Chan, Chairman of the Hang Lung Group; Dr Philemon Choi Yuen-wan and Prof Tan Chorh Chuan, president of the National University of Singapore. Dr Lee Shiu is a former Court member and Dr Jennie Lee a former Council member of Lingnan University.
