The “Green Campus Programme” Closing Ceremony cum Thematic Talk was held on 11 April in recognition of the enthusiastic participation of 20 Green Ambassadors. Officiating guests of the Ceremony included Ms Alison Ho, Head of Corporate Responsibility of Hang Sang Bank, which is the sponsor of the programme, and Prof Lee Hung-kai, Dean of Students of Lingnan University. The Ceremony was followed by a thematic talk on “Ecological conservation – How each of us can make a difference” delivered by Ms Suzanne Gendron, Executive Director of Zoological Operations & Education, Ocean Park.

“Green Ambassador Scheme”, highlight of the Green Campus Programme 2011/12, was launched for nurturing a group of green leaders on campus to help promote environmental protection. The 20 green ambassadors completed a course consisting of theory classes and field trips in two semesters. They have acquired in-depth knowledge on the formation of Hong Kong’s geology, as well as the interaction between geology and ecology through visiting geographical landmarks, including Sai Kung Geopark, Tung Ping Chau, Nam Sang Wai and Tai Po Kau. They will join an overseas study tour to Kenting, Taiwan in May.
