Following the success in the past three years, the Hong Kong Professionals & Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA) and Lingnan University continue to join hands to organise the fourth Leadership Mentoring Programme (LMP) this year. The kick-off Ceremony was held on 12 April, officiated by HKPASEA Deputy President Mr Addy Wong, MH and Lingnan University’s President Leonard K Cheng.
This year, 22 HKPASEA members had been invited to be mentors for 46 students from all disciplines. As leaders in their respective professions, the mentors will offer direct guidance and share with students about their life experience, career success and leadership skills.
In his welcoming speech, President Cheng thanked all the mentors for their time and passion to help the students. He encouraged the students to actively seek advice on career development and set clear goals for their future. They should also enhance their interpersonal relationships and better equip themselves for challenges in the future while making contribution to the community.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr Wong called on students to seize every opportunity to enrich knowledge as well as creativity to face the challenges in the booming and globalised world. He also urged students to read more and broaden their horizons through taking part in extra-curricular activities and exchange programmes. Mr Wong concluded by sharing a 5P motto with the students, “Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance”.
