Honorary fellowships were conferred upon six distinguished individuals by Lingnan University on 13 October in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their respective fields and valuable contributions to the well-being of society.

The awardees included Dr Alman Chan Siu-cheuk, Dr Adrian Cheng Chi-kong; Prof Christine Fang Meng-sang, Mr Shen Jinkang, Dr Deric Daniel Waters, and Ms Fermi Wong Wai-fun.

In her address on behalf of all honorary fellows, Prof Christine Fang Meng-sang pointed out that integrity, freedom and justice, rule of law, compassion and respect for humanity are core values the people of Hong Kong treasure and uphold. All sectors of civil society should come together to affirm these values in action.

To live up to Lingnan’s motto of “Education for Service”, Prof Fang called upon all Lingnanians “to take the future into their hands and work together to make Hong Kong a society that can bring hope, love, prosperity and pride to the people”.
