More than 640 alumni, their families and friends joined the 2016 Alumni Homecoming Day on 9 and 10 July and spent a wonderful weekend together on campus. The annual homecoming event is a great opportunity for Lingnanians to get together and reminisce about their university life.
The theme of this year’s homecoming is “Always a Lingnanian!”. It was the first time participating alumni were arranged to stay in the two new hostels of The Jockey Club New Hall apart from other hostel blocks. The two-day event presented a rich array of activities including booths featuring traditional calligraphy and handicrafts, henna body painting, health and wellness, snacks, games hosted by Lingnan University Alumni Association (Hong Kong) and Lingnan University Business Administration Alumni Association, as well as DIY workshops, movie appreciation and Lingnan Gardeners guided tour. Participants had great fun at the “Put On a Sporty Posture” photo-taking corner and when they joined the mass game “Running Lingnanians”.
The buffet dinner at Tai Ning Hall was kicked off with a welcoming speech by Vice President Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho. The dinner also featured a sharing by alumna Ms Kylie Hung, a popular cartoonist in Hong Kong on her creative journey and family life after she completed her study at Lingnan, and a performance by the Dance Society, which made the evening a truly enjoyable and memorable one for all the participants.
