Led by Prof Mette Hjort, Associate Vice President (Academic Quality Assurance and Internationalisation), a 17-member delegation of Lingnan including faculty members and students from different departments, as well as staff from Office of Service-Learning, visited the Michigan State University, Michigan Campus Compact and eight liberal arts colleges in the US on 1-10 June to share their views on different models and practices of service-learning.

The Lingnan delegates were impressed by a wide array of sharing platforms on the implementation strategies of service-learning as a graduation requirement, the incorporation of service-learning into courses, assessment tools for teaching and learning, quality assurance in liberal arts education, and also international collaboration.

Takeaways of the US visit will be reported in a sharing session to be held in the second week of September. Experienced practitioners will also be invited to share their insights. All staff and students are welcome!
