Three Lingnan University academics were honoured in the Research Grants Council (RGC) award presentation ceremony for the 2013/14 application cycle on 29 November.
Prof Peter Baehr of the Department of Sociology and Social Policy and Prof Darrell Rowbottom of the Department of Philosophy were awardees of the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme for the projects “Unmasking: A Critical Study” and “The Instrument of Science” respectively. At the same time, Prof Chen Tingting of the Department of Management was awarded a grant of the Early Career Scheme for her research proposal “The Directive-achieving Dimension of Authoritarian Leadership and Employee Learning-related Processes and Outcomes: A Cross-cultural Examination”, which obtained the full mark of 5.0.
Among the seven projects funded by the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme in 2013/14, Lingnan University and the University of Hong Kong top the list with two projects each.
Prof Jesús Seade, Vice-President, and Dr Benjamin Chan, Head of the Office of Research Support, also attended the ceremony to give their support.
