A number of Lingnanians have been bestowed with honours or appointed Justices of the Peace by the HKSAR Government this year in recognition of their significant contributions to Hong Kong or for their dedicated public and community service.

President Leonard K Cheng was awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star for his distinguished academic achievements in the fields of economic policy, finance and trade, as well as his significant contributions to the higher education sector in Hong Kong.  Other Lingnanians who received honours include the Hon Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, our Honorary Graduate who was awarded Grand Bauhinia Medal; Ms Leonie Ki Man-fung, our former Council member who was awarded Gold Bauhinia Star; and Mr Andrew Yao Cho-fai, our Council member and Prof Ho Lok-sang, our Adjunct Professor of the Department of Economics who were awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star.

On the other hand, Honorary Fellows Dr Adrian Cheng Chi-kong and Mr Thomas Jefferson Wu, Council members Mr Wong Kwan-yu and Dr Junius Ho Kwan-yiu, and former Council member Douglas Woo Chun-kuen were appointed Justice of Peace.
