Hundreds of friends, students and staff members paid their last respect to Prof Leung Ping-kwan (Ye Si), who passed away on 5 January at the age of 63, at the memorial services organised by Lingnan and students of the Chinese Society respectively on 20 January.

Prof Leung’s photos and snapshots at Lingnan were shown at the University’s memorial service held in the morning. Dr Mary Wong Shuk-han, Acting Head of the Centre for Humanities Research, gave an overview of his life. This was followed by obituaries and touching notes of friendship and fond memories from Associate Vice-President (Student Affairs) Prof Lee Hung-kai, Dean of Faculty of Arts Prof Stephen Chan, Head of Department of Chinese Prof Xu Zidong, Visiting Scholar of Department of Chinese Prof Chung Ling, Prof Grace Lau of Department of Chinese, Ms Mabel Mak of Student Services Centre and alumni representatives.
