Nature Travel Writing – Exploring the New Territories (in Chinese), the last book of trans-sector writing curated by the late Prof Leung Ping-kwan (Yesi) of the Department of Chinese at Lingnan, was published during the Hong Kong Book Fair in July.

Over the past six years, Prof Leung has worked with the Hong Kong Educational Publishing Company to launch the “Creative Writing Series” with six books published. The last book of this series, Nature Travel Writing – Exploring the New Territories, is a collection of essays by his students, which captured their thoughts and feelings when they travelled around the New Territories. The book also included the students’ exchange with Liu Ka-shiang, a renowned nature observer and writer of Taiwan, who shared tips on observation during travel to get ideas for creative writing.

The book launch, hosted by Dr Mary Wong Shuk-han, Director of Lingnan’s Centre for Humanities Research, was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20 July.
