Appointed as the Independent Analysis and Reporting Agency of the public engagement exercise “Combating Climate Change: Energy Saving and Carbon Emission Reduction in Buildings”, the Office of Service-Learning has recently published an analytical report of public views collected in August-December 2011. Public feedback on 11 environmental issues, such as tightening the Building Energy Code, recognising energy-efficient buildings, phasing out energy-inefficient incandescent light bulbs and reviewing the electricity tariff structure, were included in the report.
The public engagement exercise was conducted by the Council for Sustainable Development. The Kadoorie Institute of the University of Hong Kong was commissioned as the Programme Director.
