The University received a donation of over 130 books from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong in celebration of the 60th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand.  The Thai collection spans a wide range of subjects from politics and economics to cooking, tourism, and journals on the visits of Her Royal Highness to China.

At the book unveiling reception held on 24 November, both Mr Aroon Jivasakapimas, Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong and Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University hope that the collection would constitute a window into Thailand’s rich diversity for Lingnan staff and students, and foster closer ties between Thailand and Hong Kong.

The Thai Collection at the Fong Sum Wood Library of Lingnan University is established in spring 2012 to commemorate the book donation made by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong.  The Royal Thai Consulate-General’s donation of over 130 titles in English, Chinese and Thai this time further enriched the Collection.  Please visit the virtual collection online: http://www.library.ln.edu.hk/find/thai-collection.
