On 15 June, Lingnan’s Centre for Humanities Research (CHR) and Hong Kong Public Libraries co-organised the June 2013 session of the monthly literary salon on “A Long Nostalgic Night: Li Kuang and His Works”.

The seminar was opened with an introduction to CHR’s achievements and Li Kuang’s literary works, as well as the launch of CHR’s recent book, Stories After a Long Night: Selected Short Stories of Li Kuang by Mr Chris Song of CHR. Then Mr Matthew Cheng Ching-hang, CHR’s research assistant, shared the editing process of the book, discussing how Li Kuang’s stories about Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Singapore were selected and providing a compare-and-contrast analysis of these stories. His sharing was followed with a presentation by Dr Cheung Wing-mui, Senior Lecturer of Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, who gave an account of her research on Li Kuang and recited a few of his poems with the participants.
