An exhibition titled “ArtStorm” was held at the Leung Fong Oi Wan Art Gallery on campus on 13-16 December, showcasing more than 30 pieces of artwork made by students of a digital imaging course at Lingnan University.

Under course instructor Ms Zoie So’s guidance, students developed different art expressions about social issues, personal interests, daily life and more in the past semester. Ms So is impressed by students’ creativity and hard work.

In his artwork titled “The World”, visual studies student Teka Yiu printed images of wildlife and a construction site on two separate surfaces of a set of square-shaped iron bars to illustrate the relationship between nature and the human world. When he first started the project, he chose bamboo as the art material; yet after the mid-term brief presentation, he took the advice of his classmates and substituted bamboo with iron bars, which gave a more metallic, and hence artificial, sensation to the artwork. “Apart from learning technical skills such as Photoshop and Illustrator, I developed an interest in the advertising industry and will probably follow this direction in my future career,” said Teki.
