More than 100 guests and Tuen Mun residents shared a Sunday morning of fun, health and laughter at the kick-off ceremony of Think-Act-Contribute (TAC) 2012 on 16 September.

The kick-off ceremony began with an energetic dance led by Nicholas Ooi of Lingnan’s Office of Service-Learning (OSL) and health leaders of the TAC programme, who are trained volunteers from the Elderly Academy at Lingnan and other community organisations. They were later joined by the officiating guests and more than 100 participants on the floor to promote better health and more enjoyable living through dancing.

The officiating guests were Dr Ching Cheuk-tuen, Regina, Assistant Director of Health (Health Promotion); Mr David Lau Kam-kuen, District Officer (Tuen Mun); Mr Pong Chong, Chairman, Tuen Mun Healthy City Association; Ms Ronnie Chan, General Manager, Leasing Department, Sino Group; Prof Lee Hung-kai, Associate Vice-President (Student Affairs) and Prof Alfred Chan Cheung-ming, OSL Director of Lingnan.

Co-organised by OSL and Tuen Mun Healthy City Association, TAC 2012 is an 18-month programme to promote healthy lifestyles in the Tuen Mun community. Activities include health seminars, dancing classes, training for health leaders and research on the health conditions of Tuen Mun residents. The programme is also supported by the Health Care and Promotion Fund of the Food and Health Bureau.
