The 2015 Academy of International Business Southeast Asia Regional (AIBSEAR) Conference, co-organised by Lingnan’s Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies and Chapter – Southeast Asia of the Academy of International Business with the theme: Global Businesses and Consumers in a Networked World, was held during 3-5 December in Penang, Malaysia.

The Conference attracted about 60 participants from 16 countries or regions including Austria, Canada, Mainland China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines and UK.  A total of 51 papers were presented in 13 concurrent sessions and two special panel sessions on “How Malaysian Tourism Industry Recovers from the Recent Difficulties in Airline and Travel Security” and “Asian Businesses in a Turbulent Environment: Uncertainty and Coping Strategies”.                                       

Prof Geng Cui, Director of Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies, Lingnan University and Chairperson of AIBSEAR Chapter and Dr Sofri Yahya, Dean of Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia officiated in the Conference’s Opening Ceremony on 3 December.  Fourteen faculty members and two research postgraduate business students of Lingnan attended and presented papers in the Conference.  The conference papers were published electronically in the form of a compact disk with the ISBN No. 978-962-8134-17-5.
