China International Association of President of Nursing Homes and the Asia Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS), Lingnan University co-organised the Second International Leadership Assembly of Nursing Homes cum APIAS-Tsao-ILC Symposium for Junior Researchers on Active Ageing 2012 on 27-28 June.

With a theme of advancing health and well-being of older persons through policy and practice, this conference was a leading international platform for government officials, scholars, healthcare and social work professionals to exchange insights and share experiences on elderly care and nursing around the world.

The two-day conference was opened by Ms Liu Yunhua, Vice-chairwoman and Secretary-general of the China International Association of President of Nursing Homes, Mr Yan Qingchun, Deputy Director of the National Committee on Ageing, China, Mrs Zhou Ping, Deputy Director-general, Department of Social Relief, Ministry of Civil Affairs, China, Mr Yu Zhihong, Secretary-general, Retired Staff Management Bureau, Ministry of Civil Affairs, China, Dr Leong Che-hung, Executive Councillor and Chairman of the Elder Academy Development Fund, Hong Kong SAR, and Prof Alfred Chan Cheung-ming, Chairman of the Elderly Commission, Hong Kong SAR and Chair Professor and Director of Asia Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies, Lingnan University.
