Research and academic activities

Dr Rajesh Tandon, UNESCO Co-chair in Community-based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education and President of the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), cited Lingnan University as “a powerful example” of smaller, faith-based universities in Asia-Pacific that vigorously pursue community engagement despite peer pressures to chase the world ranking sweepstakes.

Dr Tandon made these comments on his blog (http://unescochair-cbrsr.org/building-partnerships-with-mayors-opportunities-for-heis/) after his visit to Lingnan on 22 November, when he was invited to share his view on higher education and social responsibility at a seminar.

Prof James Pounder, Director of Teaching and Learning Centre and Dr Carol Ma, Assistant Director of Office of Service-learning also delivered their remarks during the seminar.
