The opening of the “We Are Golden” Film Series, jointly organised by the Core Curriculum and General Education Office (CCGEO), the Centre for Cinema Studies (CCS) and CNEX Foundation Ltd, was held on 18 September.
The screening of Fish Story, a local documentary about two primary school children from underprivileged families and the first film in the series, drew a full house audience. Prof Stephen Chan, Director of CCGEO, introduced the film series, which would be shown from September to November on campus and consisted of four documentaries about different stages of life. He remarked that the film series would challenge the audience to think deep on how to live a better life as we grow older each day.
President Leonard Cheng presented souvenirs to the organising partner CNEX Foundation Ltd, as well as the film director Mr Wong Siu-pong, who was the guest speaker at the post-screening discussion session.
