A beautiful selection of 35 small-to-medium-sized sculptures created by renowned Mexican sculptor and ceramist Mr José Sacal are on display till 19 March in the “ZOOMANITY” exhibition at Leung Fong Oi Wan Art Gallery of Lingnan University.

The collections feature a series of human, animal and spiritual figures which have an influence on Maestro Sacal’s life. Among them are predominantly fantastic illustrations of human torsos or surrealism figures, four pieces of spiritual representations and 17 intriguing figurative animal sculptures.

An opening reception was held on 27 February to kick start the event. Officiating guests included Ambassador Alicia Buenrostro Massieu, Consul General of Mexico in Hong Kong and Macau SAR, and President Leonard K Cheng and Vice-President Prof Jesús Seade of Lingnan University.

Maestro Sacal is one of Mexico’s most prolific and internationally prominent contemporary artists. Apart from his own country Mexico, Mr Sacal has held over 80 solo and group exhibitions around the world.
