On 3 May, 20 scholarships were awarded by ZeShan Foundation to support students going on exchange overseas or in mainland China for one semester in the academic year 2013/14.
Last year’s scholarship recipients who had returned from their exchange shared their observations in their host countries and viewpoints on controversial social issues, including legalisation of sex work in the Netherlands, education policies in Mexico, as well as the hotly debated gun control in the US. Ms Yan Chan, Programme Director of ZeShan Foundation, joined the sharing session and encouraged students to treasure the exchange opportunities.
The ZeShan Foundation Scholarships were established in 2006 to support students with good academic performance to go on exchange for one academic semester. Up to 2013/14, the Foundation has awarded scholarships amounting HK$850,000 to 87 students.
