Lingnan University held the Awards Presentation Ceremony 2012 on 23 April 2012 with Dr Alex Lee Ye-lick, Chairman of Lingnan University Alumni Association (HK) Ltd and Court Member of Lingnan University, as the officiating guest of honour. This year, 445 awards and scholarships totalling about HK$9.5 million were presented to more than 300 students in recognition of their outstanding academic and personal achievements.

Two Lingnan students have received “Outstanding Service Award for Tertiary Students 2011-2012” in recognition of their devotion to serving the community.

Lingnan students won two championships and a second runner-up prize at the Hong Kong Inter-tertiary Institution Putonghua Recitation Contest 2012.

Ms Renee Cheng, a Year 2 Translation student, won the second runner-up prize in the first round of the AIA Quest for the Champion Communicator Contest 2012.

Two books published by the Centre for Humanities Research (CHR) of Lingnan University have become finalists for the 5th Hong Kong Book Prize.

The Office of Service-Learning has published a report on “Combating Climate Change: Energy Saving and Carbon Emission Reduction in Buildings”, providing qualitative and quantitative analysis of public views collected in the public engagement exercise.
