President Leonard K Cheng led senior management of Lingnan University to demonstrate a few steps of the Yang style of Taiji at the Chinese New Year media reception on 11 Feb 2014 to wish all media representatives, students and staff a healthy, happy and prosperous Year of the Horse.

On 12 Feb 2014, Lingnan University launched a book of collaborative haiku, a short form of Japanese poetry consisting of only three lines, and collaborative picture postcards. The work in this book was jointly created by students of Lingnan University and University of Macau. The 125-page book, Between: Collaborative haiku and picture postcards, is the outcome of a pedagogical, cross-disciplinary project that fostered the creativity of, and between, students of Hong Kong and Macau.

Hong Kong children from Primary 4 to Secondary 3 were happier in 2013 with their happiness index standing at 7.23, evidently higher than 6.91 in 2012, according to results of the latest survey conducted by the Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) of Lingnan University announced on 17 Feb 2014.
