Lingnan University held a public lecture entitled “Corruption: Demand-Side and Supply-Side Solutions” on 21 March 2014, at which Prof Avinash Dixit, Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Economics, shared his research findings on corruption.

"All characteristics of a certain period of time are essentially the characteristics of the people of that time. So are its problems. I believe times are created by people, and only people and their lives are worthy of writing,” renowned Chinese novelist Mr Su Tong told 400 Lingnan University students, staff, guests and members of the public his views on times at the public lecture “Literature, in Small Times, in Great Times” on 25 March.

The Lingnan University Track & Field Team, Rowing Team and Taekwondo Team have made excellent results in the 53rd USFHK Annual Athletic Meet, 14th Hong Kong Universities Indoor Rowing Championships (LU Station) and USFHK Taekwondo Competition respectively.

Lingnan University has won a Gold Award, for the second time, in the Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme, co-organized by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC).
