Search for the New Vice-President

Dear Alumni,

Thanks to all those who participated in the consultative session held on 8 April 2014.  The Search Committee is very appreciative of the views/suggestions received at the session.

For those who were not not present at the consultative session,  please find

(i) the summary of the search and recruitment process (http://www.ln.edu.hk/poccb/scnvp-summaryupdate-20140424.pdf), and
(ii) the recruitment advertisement for new Vice-President (http://www.ln.edu.hk/poccb/scnvp-recruitmentadv-20140424.pdf)

which have been disseminated to participants again at the consultative session for information.

At the session, the Search Committee Chairman updated participants on the progress of the search, and the representative of the recruitment service provider has provided information on the search progress and their works on how they handle the applications/nominations received.  Views and comments received at the session would be taken into consideration by the Search Committee in due course.

Su Tong’s best-known novella Wives and Concubines, adapted by director Zhang Yimou to make the film Raising the Red Lantern, had marked a “revolution” in his writing style. At the Lingnan University Writer-in-residence 2014 public seminar “From Raising the Red Lantern to The Oriole” on 10 April, he told the audience that the change had been triggered by some ridicule of a colleague on his editorial team.

Lingnan University held the Awards Presentation Ceremony 2014 on 14 April 2014, with Mr Adrian Cheng, Executive Director and Joint General Manager of New World Development Company Limited, as the officiating guest of honour. This year, 585 awards and scholarships totalling about HK$11 million were presented to 390 students in recognition of their outstanding academic and personal achievements.
