In his Letter to Lingnanians on 16 December, President Leonard K Cheng reported on several new initiatives at the University that had borne fruit, such as the inauguration of the Lingnan Gardeners project, the establishment of the Equal Opportunities Committee and the first “Music Day”.

The “Postcards Between Friends: Collaborative Drawing and Creativity Pedagogy” exhibition, showcasing postcards drawn collaboratively by 85 Visual Studies students in the past two years, is held from 1 November 2014 to 30 January 2015 at Lingnan University’s Fong Sum Wood Library.

Some 450 Lingnan staff took a break from their work and celebrated the coming of a new year at the annual staff party held on 23 December 2014. The occasion also paid tribute to 41 long-serving colleagues with dedicated contributions to Lingnan.

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has made several appointments and re-appointments to the Council and the Court of Lingnan University.

During her residency at Lingnan from September to December, award-winning British illustrator Ms Cat O’Neil introduced to students the field of contemporary illustration and the skills of visual storytelling.

A team of four Lingnan students has won the 2nd runner-up in the Qualification Programme (QP) Case Analysis Competition 2014 organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In a recent interview with Lingnan Chronicle, new Council Chairman Mr Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen reflected on the path of his life and its possible connection to the University’s vision and mission.
