「校友團年日 : 沙頭角農莊一天遊」已於2016年1月24日完滿舉行。雖然當日氣溫低至攝氏三度,但是仍無阻校友們熱情的參與,逾30名嶺大校友與其親友聚首一堂,在嚴寒的天氣下一起歡度了一個難忘及愉快的團年日。

Awards and Achievements

Prof Cai Zongqi, Lee Wing Tat Chair Professor of Chinese Literature and Head of Department of Chinese, has been awarded the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship by the Research Grants Council for the 2015/16 funding exercise.

Tenniel Tao Ming-yin, a Year 3 Translation student, won the 2nd runner-up in the Senior Section of the Modern Chinese Poetry Category in the 42nd Youth Literary Awards with his piece ”The Son of a Fishing Port”.

Sylvia You Shuya, a Year 4 accounting student who will embark on her career journey this summer, attributed her recent success in job search to the liberal arts education and colourful campus life of Lingnan.

Julian Ventura, Ambassador of Mexico to the People’s Republic of China, delivered a speech with the topic “Mexico-China Strategic Relations” at the Lingnan University Distinguished Lecture Series on 29 January organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences.

2 February, 2016

Lingnan University becomes a partner of the Centre for Global Higher Education (CGHE), the largest research centre in the world specifically focused on higher education and its future development.  The Centre was launched in an international public seminar held on 2 and 3 February in London.

Lingnan University is inviting applications to more than 20 courses of its Summer School this year, which encompass disciplines of Business Studies, Humanities, Languages, Science and Social Sciences to cater for the diverse interests of students and members of the community.

The Science Unit will stage the “Science Seminar Series” featuring three seminars from February to April on the various topics about biodiversity and climate change in Hong Kong and the South East Asia.

Some 60 principals, vice principals and career guidance masters from 40 local secondary schools visited Lingnan to learn about the University’s liberal arts education and programme developments. They also visited student hostels to experience our vibrant campus life.

The Arts Festival 2016, to be held in March, savours a rich cornucopia of musical and cultural events on campus.

New Publications

Lingnan’s Centre for Humanities Research (CHR) conducted six talks about Hong Kong and Macao culture at the Carmo Hall, Taipa, Macao from October to December 2015 in collaboration with the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) of the Macao SAR Government.

January issue of the Newsletter of the Office of Service-Learning is now published.

The Annual Report 2014/15 of Office of Service-Learning has published.

Lingnan Gardeners Newsletter No.14 is now published.

The Library has published Issue 10 of Library Matters newsletters.
