Campus News
16 October, 2017

In the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2018 announced on 16 October, Lingnan University is ranked 100th, up by 9 places from last year.

18 October, 2017

Lingnan University’s International Day 2017 was held on campus on 18 October.  It is one of the proud traditions of the University with the aim of promoting internationalisation and celebrating the beauty of cultural diversity at Lingnan.

19 October, 2017

To discuss the implications of globalisation on higher education in the Asia Pacific region and the challenge of resurgent nationalism on the trend of globalisation, Lingnan University co-organised the international symposium “Contesting Globalisation and Implications for Asian Pacific Higher Education: Resurgent Nationalism in International Higher Education” with the Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP) from the US, University College London from the UK, Peking University from Mainland China and Hiroshima University from Japan from 19 to 20 October.

嶺南大學(嶺大)文化研究系和群芳文化研究及發展部,與亞洲藝術文獻庫合辦一系列名為「演繹檔案庫:從解讀檔案到藝術實踐」的活動,探討檔案庫如何演繹歷史。

We welcome the Chief Executive’s 2017 Policy Address which states the Government’s position in support of the higher education sector of Hong Kong.  It also reflects the Government’s commitment to a comprehensive and holistic initiative to enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong education sector internationally.  In particular, we very much support the Government’s funding initiative for research and development, with a goal to double the total expenditure on R&D as a percentage of the Gross Domestic Product to about 1.5% in five years’ time.  We also welcome the setting up of the Hostel Development Fund for the provision of additional hostel places, which will help solve the problem of shortage in hostel places and thus improve the learning experience of students in Hong Kong.

Within the General Entrance Requirements of 33222 whereby all candidates are required to take four core subjects (i.e. Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics Compulsory Part and Liberal Studies) plus another elective of their choice for the purpose of admission to Lingnan, the University will adopt a new “best 5 subjects” approach with subject weightings in calculating the JUPAS admission scores for entrance to Lingnan from 2018.
