The 2018 Summer Internship Program is launched under the Lingnanian Partnership Scheme. It will be jointly organized by LUAA and Lingnan University to line up internship partners and students of high calibre. We are proud that many of our alumni are specialists in different professions, self-employed, or holding senior positions in the commercial world.
The main objective of this program is to extend Lingnan students’ all-round competence in the real working environment under the leadership and guidance from our experienced alumni. It is expected that this program will motivate more alumni to get in touch with their junior brothers and sisters in Lingnan and, as a result, to unite most if not all Lingnanians to work together for the betterment of Lingnan education and its image.
The Council of Lingnan University announced on 22 January that after consultation with the Court, as stipulated in Section 15(1) of the Lingnan University Ordinance, the Council has resolved to re-appoint Professor Leonard K Cheng as the President of the University for a further period of five years with effect from 1 September 2018.
About 1,400 guests including Lingnan University’s supporters and friends from different sectors, staff, alumni and students joined the Lingnan University 50th Anniversary in Hong Kong Celebration Banquet held on 20 January at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Two new books were launched on 18 January which captured the glorious history, development and achievements of Lingnan University over the past 50 years. The books, titled 50 Years of Lingnan Spirit and The Old Spirit in a New Setting — The Hong Kong Story of Lingnan University respectively, were published in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Lingnan University’s re-establishment in Hong Kong.
Lingnan University organises the Distinguished Leaders Dialogue Series — Dialogue on Education on 16 January on its campus.
