Conference on the Future Development of Insurance Industry in Hong Kong
You are cordially invited to join the Conference on the Future Development of Insurance Industry in Hong Kong co-organised by Lingnan University and AR Charitable Foundation to be held on Monday, 10th September 2018.
The Conference is one of the major events celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Lingnan University's re-establishment in Hong Kong, and a pioneering academic-industry collaborative initiative. We are honoured to have The Hon Paul Chan Mo-po, GBM, GBS, MH, JP, Financial Secretary, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as our Guest of Honour and keynote speaker.
The Conference will also feature two panel discussions moderated by The Hon Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBS, JP, Convenor of the Executive Council of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and another keynote speech by Mr Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen, JP, a veteran leader of the insurance industry and Chairman of the Council of Lingnan University.
Officials from regulatory and statutory bodies, industry leaders and academics will talk about practical issues, opportunities and challenges in relation to the supply of talents and development of the insurance industry, as well as their insights into industry effort and government support for enhancing the competitiveness of the industry.

Symphony of Lingnanians – Closing Ceremony of the 50th Anniversary of the Re-establishment of Lingnan University in Hong Kong
A series of wonderful performances will be showcased, including Dragon and Lion Dance, Harmonica Orchestra Performance, Cantonese Naamyam Singing, Dancing Performance and Singing Performance. Lingnanians, let’s celebrate!

Lingnan University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) - Risk and Insurance Management programme is designated as the Global Centers of Insurance Excellence (GCIE) in 2018 by the International Insurance Society (IIS) among the nine international universities at the IIS Global Insurance Forum held in Berlin, Germany on 9 July. The GCIE certification programme recognises outstanding risk management and insurance programmes that play an integral role in promoting insurance knowledge and research.
“Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project – Together We Love Elderly @ Tuen Mun” Appointment Ceremony organized by Yan Oi Tong Woo Chung District Elderly Community Centre was held on 17 August 2018 at Lingnan University. The project, funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and partnered with Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) of Lingnan University, aims at enhancing the age-friendliness in the community and fosters a social network to provide support to dementia patients’ caregivers and families.
The Office of Service-Learning (OSL) organised the I-Gen Series 2018 from 16 to 21 July. This project is under the Jockey Club “We Care, We Serve & We Learn @ Tuen Mun” Programme, which serves as a platform for university students, secondary school students and the elderly to discover different social issues and new projects related to ageing population. It also aims to introduce the concept of social innovation to the community and train social leaders of different ages.
Mr João Salvador Neto dos Santos, Angola Ambassador to China, Mr Cupertino Gourgel, Angola Consul General in Hong Kong and other delegates visited the University on 9 July.
