為成立嶺南大學研究生校友會的第一次會議及聚餐於2019年4月26日完滿舉行,有20名研究生校友參與,他們均畢業於不同專業,例如有會計、國際銀行及金融、財務、經濟、人力資源管理、中文文學等,當中嶺南大學會計教育基金會的3名校友亦有出席,並分享他們成立校友會的經驗。

Congratulations!  Lingnan University Chinese Debate Team won the championship in the final match of the Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition 2019 on 27 April 2019, which is co-organized by the Radio & Television Hong Kong (RTHK) and The Hong Kong Federation of Students (HKFS).  The debate motion is “The advantages outweigh the disadvantages in the MeToo movement in promoting social justice”.  Ms Anna Mak was also awarded the ‘Best Debater”.  Congratulations again!

Lingnan University appointed six distinguished gentlemen as Honorary Court Members on 11 April, in appreciation of their invaluable support and contributions to the University and the society at large. The Honorary Court Members will continue to contribute their time and efforts in supporting the development of the University by offering professional advice and promoting the University’s interests.

Design thinking is a creative problem-solving method that emphasises human-centered research and innovation. It has been widely used and recognised for catalysing innovation in diverse disciplines including business, engineering, medicine and education.

Hong Kong continues to be a leading financial hub attracting investment from around the world. And as the Greater Bay Area and Belt and Road economic initiatives gain traction, employers in key sectors will be looking for new recruits in order to boost business growth.  

School campus always sets the backdrop in the films directed by Adam Wong Sau Ping. Today, the film director is back to a school campus as he is participating in the artist-in-residence programme at Lingnan University for the 2nd term of 2018-19 to share what he learned in the film industry.

The Science Unit recently organised two seminars under the Visiting Science Scholar Seminar Series 2019: “Air Pollution Exposure for Active Mode Commuters and the Influence of Urban Transport Infrastructure” and “Intestinal Microbes and Human Health”. Both seminars attracted a full house of audience consisted of Lingnan staff, students and the general public.

In March and April 2019, Lingnan has strengthened its global links with the establishment of 12 new agreements on academic cooperation.

Following the success of the joint university campaign "UNIfy: Skip the Straw" last year, the eight UGC-funded universities decided to show their determination to develop a green and healthy community by reducing waste at source and launched "The Joint-U Campaign 2019 - UNIfy: BYO" in March.
