Lingnan University has appointed Prof Joshua MOK Ka-Ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Comparative Policy, as Founding Dean of the School of Graduate Studies with effect from 1 July 2019. The University has also appointed Prof LAU Chi-Pang of the Department of History to succeed Prof LUI Hon-Kwong of the Department of Marketing and International Business, as Associate Vice-President (Academic Affairs and External Relations) while Prof LUI is appointed as Associate Vice-President (Further Education and Projects) with effect from 15 June 2019. With effect from the same date, Prof LENG Mingming of the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences and Prof SIU Oi-Ling of the Applied Psychology have also been appointed to Dean of the Faculty of Business and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences respectively.

Oswin Wong Chui, a third-year student majoring in Accounting and minor in Risk and Insurance Management at Lingnan University, recently took part in the 9th Friends of Diplomacy Summer Camp organised by the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong.

On 6 June, the Registry of Lingnan University organised Programme Consultation Day for the first time, offering DSE graduates, non-JUPAS applicants and their parents firsthand information about Lingnan.

Professor Joshua Mok, Vice President and Director of Division of Graduate Studies of Lingnan University was invited by Peking University and University of Wisconsin to present at the 5th Peking University-University of Wisconsin Workshop on Higher Education successfully held in Beijing on 25 and 26 May 2019.

As the writer-in-residence for Lingnan University’s English Department, Michael Luongo believes one of his main missions is to inspire students to find the confidence to explore and express their creative “voice”.

The annual Inter-collegiate Debate Competition 2019 reached a successful conclusion with Lingnan University taking the top prize among tertiary institutions, matching its previous win in 2016.

To strengthen the University’s global networks, Lingnan has established new agreements on academic cooperation with Forman Christian College (a chartered university) in Pakistan and Symbiosis International (a deemed university) in India in May 2019.
