Lingnan University Undergraduate Alumni Association and the First Executive Committee Formation Meeting was successfully held on 17 March 2021.  With the aim of bringing together the undergraduate alumni, strengthening the bonding between alumni and the University, and connecting closely with the current students, a group of undergraduate alumni graduated from different years and programmes formed an Organising Committee in early 2020 to prepare for the establishment of Lingnan University Undergraduate Alumni Association (the Association).  After a year of preparation, the Formation Meeting was successfully held in online format.

The Formation Meeting began with a welcoming speech by Mr Matthew Mo, Director of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs.  Mr Mo thanked for the efforts from the Organising Committee and hoped to have more alumni graduated from different years and programmes joining the Association, so that it could act as a bridge between alumni and the University as well as make contributions.  Ms Ella Lee, Chairman of the Organising Committee, introduced the Association and its Constitution to the alumni.  She indicated that the major missions of the Association was to connect alumni, current students and the alma mater, as well as uphold the University’s motto “Education for Service”.  After that, each member of the First Executive Committee introduced themselves briefly.

With more than 80 votes from the alumni, the Constitution and the First Executive Committee were approved, and Lingnan University Undergraduate Alumni Association was officially established.  At the end of the Formation Meeting, the Executive Committee introduced their events’ plan for the coming year, and encouraged alumni to join the Association for the development of the Association and the contribution to the alma mater cohesively.
