Blossoming Exchange Networks
To build on existing ties and lay the foundations for deeper collaboration, representatives from the Office of Global Education (OGE) participated in various international events in the 2015-16 academic year, including the EAIE 2015 Conference in Glasgow, the UK, the APAIE 2016 Conference and Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia, and the NAFSA 2016 Annual Conference and Expo in Denver, the US.
A number of visits were paid to both new and existing partners in Australia, mainland China, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Poland, Taiwan, the Netherlands and the US. Our President, Professor Leonard K Cheng, paid hospitality visits to Pacific University and Willamette University in the US in June 2016 to strengthen our existing collaboration. In addition, the delegations led by Professor Shalendra Sharma, Associate Vice-President (Academic Quality Assurance and Internationalisation) successfully deepened our relationships with our current partners and established student exchange agreements with new partners. We deeply appreciated the hospitality of our partner institutions.
The OGE is devoted to developing an extensive network of international partnerships across the globe to facilitate students’ mobility and their engagement with a world beyond Hong Kong. The total number of exchange partners recently reached 186 in 39 countries.
